Removals UK to Portugal
UK to Portugal removals — Lisbon, Porto, Cascais, the Algarve, the Silver Coast and Madeira. Road freight via Spain, customs and residency paperwork handled.
Portugal’s D7 visa and Golden Visa programmes have made it one of the fastest-growing UK→EU destinations. Most of our UK→Portugal volume is split between Lisbon, Cascais, Porto, the Algarve (Faro, Lagos, Tavira, Vilamoura), and the Silver Coast (Óbidos, Caldas da Rainha, Peniche).
Road freight goes via France and Spain — typical sole-use transit is 7–14 days. Madeira and the Azores ship via container. Portugal’s "Transferência de Residência" is the equivalent of UK ToR relief and exempts duty on personal household goods.
Freight modes & transit times
Dedicated truck via France/Spain. Best for firm timelines and full house moves.
Cheaper, slower — fine for non-urgent moves.
For island deliveries via Lisbon or Funchal port.
Time-critical or small-volume.
Customs & paperwork
Export from UK: EAD and EORI declarations handled by us.
Import to Portugal: "Transferência de Residência" exemption applies for goods owned and used at least 12 months. Required documents include NIF (Portuguese tax number), proof of Portuguese address, valid visa or residency, passport, inventory in Portuguese, and a baixa (cancellation of UK residence) where applicable.
New goods (under 12 months ownership) attract VAT and duty — separate them from your inventory and we’ll declare them separately.
